An Apology to Israel

This blog can also be found, along with more, at www.fowlerforfreedom.com.
I would like to apologize to Israel, the government and the people of that nation, for the recent remarks made by President Obama at the United Nations. Unfortunately, Barack is the president of this (once) great nation, so he is our de facto representative to the world. And, as you all know, today he made some rather stupid statements before the General Assembly, basically throwing Israel “under the bus.” I’m not sure if his speech was born out of ignorance or some sort of twisted, perverted world view. Either way, he is wrong, and I wish he would have kept his mouth shut.

While the government of the United States may turn its back on you, the majority of America’s citizens are behind you. I know that doesn’t mean much, when we don’t set the policy directly; however I hope and pray the balance of power will shift in the next few years, and the voting public will oust the ones they unfortunately elected.

Since Barack seems to be intent on apologizing to every nation for the way he perceives America has acted, I’m going to take a page out of his book. I’m offering this apology for the way my “country” has acted today! It’s not one of our finest moments, and I hope we don’t have any more like it. However, at every turn Barack has proven he’s, quite frankly, a moron, so I won’t hold my breath.

In the mean time, my prayers will be with the Nation of Israel for your safety and peace.

Giving In To Putin

I’ve always been blessed with the ability to read people. It’s part of what Christians refer to as discernment. I’ve never been one to be duped by lying politicians (I usually see right through them), crazy religious leaders (I can spot ‘em a mile away), and general people in life with ulterior motives. Now, I’m not bragging, as I know this ability isn’t from me, rather it is given by God. Many Christians possess such a gift, and use it to warn others of danger and evil.

So, allow me to make some observations about someone I’ve never even met: Vladimir Putin. I’ve never, thankfully, met him in person, but I know a lot about his nature. I can read him like a book. The bottom line is Putin is an evil S.O.B. who is completely void of any moral character what so ever. I also predict he’s a sadist (I’d bet everything I own on that). He’s worthless, godless, and the only time he’ll contribute positively to the human race is the day he kills over. Anyone with any amount of discernment should be able to see this. What I just wrote shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone!

So why, then, is Obama and his buddies in power bowing down to ol’ Vladimir? Today, Barack stated that he’s throwing away George Bush’s missile defense system that would have protected the Czech Republic and Poland from Russia in case of attack. And make no mistake about it, Russia will attack. I don’t know when it will be, but as the nation slips more and more back into the empty ideology of communism, they won’t tolerate neighbors that are free.  Plus, add to the mix that Putin is as power hungry as he is evil, and a future invasion by the reemerging USSR seems inevitable.

Obama claims a new mobile defense system will work even better and be more efficient. First of all how the heck do you have a mobile missile defense system? It doesn’t even make sense. Secondly, everyone knows that this is about. Putin raised hell and whined and cried for months about how any permanent defense system would be a threat to Russia and blah, blah, blah. He beat his chest and tried to seem threatening, playing the role of the bully that he is. Today’s announcement by the President is a way of saying, “You win, Vladimir,” without actually saying it. It’s giving in to the demands of the Russian leader, while still trying to sound tough and committed to our allies.

Recently my son started school, and is learning new things on the playground. My son is taller than most of the other kids, and so far he hasn’t been picked on. However, he’s seen some bullies and I’ve talked to him about it. I’ve told him we always stand up to bullies. If they run over you once, they will think it’s a free pass to keep on doing it. In time I’ll teach my son not to start fights, but not to let bullies push him around either. The U.S. needs to have the same policy. In fact, rather than giving into the bullies of the world, we need to make an example of them. I’m not talking about attacking Russia, but I am saying we need to stand up for our interests and the interests of our allies. And screw any nation that doesn’t like it. That’s their problem. If Putin doesn’t like what we’re doing, I say flip him the proverbial bird and move on.

Another thing, before I wrap up. I’ll teach my son to stick up for not only himself, but also the little guy that might need some help. The Czech Republic and Poland need someone to help them. I’m not saying anything bad about them and it’s not a slam to their countries. I’m just saying they’re next to a big, giant bully with a lot more strength. Having someone come beside them would go a long way!

This move by the Obama Administration is a huge mistake! It will come back to bite us. Putin is a rattlesnake. He’s cunning, shrewd, and calculated and waiting to strike.  Obama is naive and unprepared to deal with world leaders. Or maybe Obama just doesn’t care about our allies or actually likes Putin. Who knows? All I know is this is a foreign policy blunder and it will backfire. I just hope when it does it’s not too late for Poland and the Czechs.

A List of Grievances

Please Note: This blog can also be found, along with other info and news, at my new site www.fowlerforfreedom.com

I can’t help but gripe about Obama. I know, I know, he’s the President of these United States and he deserves respect and…blah, blah, blah. But it's tough. I don’t even think of him as “my president.” When I voice these feelings some ask, “What has he ever done to you? Why do you dislike him so much?” So, I thought it would be helpful to make a list. Now, keep in mind, please, that this is not a complete list. I’m sure there are items that I’ve overlooked, and there will be many future items to add (unfortunately). But, here is the partial list of grievances against Fuhrer Obama.
·         The first one goes back to when he was just a state senator in Illinois (so it really doesn’t go back too far). He spoke out in 2001 and 2002 against the Infants Born Alive Protection Act (granting full rights to babies who survive abortions). In 2003 he killed the Act in committee. I could stop right there and that would be enough, but there’s more.
·         His excessive apologizing to the rest of the world is insulting to Americans. He has called all of us arrogant (not to mention the fact that his Attorney General has said we are a “nation of cowards”).
·         He fired the CEO of a private company. Man, I had a hard time even writing that. First of all, he had no authority to do it, but no one questioned him or stood up to him (that’s how bullies thrive). So, for the first time (that we know of) an American President ousted the director of a company and basically had a lackey appointed in his place.
·         Obama is actually giving more power to the Federal Reserve. Never mind the fact that the unconstitutional organization is partly to blame for the current financial crisis, Obama is giving them more control and authority. This leads us to the next grievence.
·         Obama is printing money like it’s going out of style! Wait until massive inflation hits. Then maybe more Americans will wake up and see why this is a horrible idea.
·         Obama will bring back the “Fairness Doctrine” (which is anything but). Barack can’t stand the fact that conservatives in talk radio wield such a big stick. Every since he’s taken office with a Democrat controlled House and Senate, talk of the crazy, Gestapo “Doctrine” has been all over the place. He may not do it directly, and there’s a good chance it won’t be called the “Fairness Doctrine,” but the assault on free speech has already begun.
·         He controls the press! The media hounds loved Clinton. However, I can’t remember a time when the so called “watchdogs of government” were so blatantly in the tank for a president. What’s funny is Obama is so concerned about his image and what gets out he even keeps his cult like followers in the media on a short leash. He controls what photos get out, who is allowed in various press conferences, and even plants questions using fake reporters!
·         Cap and trade. Enough said right there, but I’ll elaborate a bit. It’s no business of the government or anyone else how “energy efficient” my home is, what I keep my thermostat set at, or anything else like that. If I want to drive a gas guzzling SUV (which I do) then I’m going to drive one. Which reminds me, gas is going to shoot sky high when this cap and trade nonsense becomes law, not to mention the cost of heating and cooling our homes. There’s no better way to kill off an already suffering economy than to enact the disastrous policy we call “cap and trade.” But hey, it’s for the environment. I guess I just don’t care about mother earth. Man, I’m a hate monger!
·         Two words: Sonia Sotomayor. I’ve got news for all the liberals: it’s not just white men who can be racist and sexist, as this Latino woman fully proves.
·         Government bail-outs were wrong under George W. Bush, and they’re wrong under Barack Hussein Obama. It’s not right for the hard earned tax dollars of hard working Americans to be stolen and given to those who have been fiscally irresponsible!
·         Thanks to the bail-outs, Obama and the United States Government now own the controlling portions of several U.S. businesses. If that’s not socialism, I don’t know what is. Obama has said, “I have no desire to run these companies.” Then stop firing executives.
Like I stated above, this is by no means a finished list. I’m sure I’ve left out numerous things. Trying to figure out all Obama has done wrong is tough. There’s just so much! Soon I’ll be able to add “health care” to the list. But, in the mean time, send me your items and let’s compile this list together.

Where's the Unity?

I’m confused. I thought Obama was going to unite the country. That’s what he claimed, anyway. He was going to unite the country and then step it up a notch and unite the world! Our enemies were supposed to love us again. They don’t. The cowards in al Qaeda are still making threats. What about North Korea? The comical little man that controls that mess is still running his mouth off and testing nukes. Chavez is still an ignorant idiot, but some things will never change. And then there’s Iran. They are being…well…Iran. Bottom line, the thugs and dictators that hated us before still hate us, even with His Excellency Obama in office.

But let’s get back to what’s going on in America for a moment. It doesn’t matter if you like or dislike him; any honest person has to admit Obama is polarizing. I personally don’t remember ever seeing backlash like this against a sitting U.S. president. I mean, there were people who couldn’t stand Clinton, and some tried to “dethrone” him. But even Clinton wasn’t as polarizing as Obama. There were many who hated G.W. Bush, and he was very polarizing, but not even to the extent of what’s going on now! (It’s also important to note that the media and Hollywood hated Bush far more than the average American, as polls showed. Americans liked him enough to vote him in a second term.) I also can’t remember a time when the liberals were so unified behind a person. They loved Clinton, but some of them found him too moderate. The media defended Clinton, but they are going beyond that with Obama. They are making no secret that they worship the guy.  They’ve all but stated the man can do no wrong and one day, when he departs this world, it will be okay because he will only be dead three days before rising triumphantly from the grave.  Have you seen the creepy way Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews gush over Obama? It’s disturbing to an extent, and makes me think the two men may be a bit confused about the birds and the bees and all that stuff.

I digress, however. The bottom line is that Obama is a very polarizing president.

Here’s how a recent Newsmax article stated the facts:

“In his first two months in office, President Barack Obama has succeeded in widening the political gulf among Americans more than any other president in modern history, according to a new poll. The "partisan gap" between Republicans and Democrats is 10 points larger than it was under George W. Bush.” (To read the full article, check out http://www.newsmax.com/headlines/obama_pew_poll/2009/04/06/200377.html)

Again, I’m confused and frankly shocked! I thought he was going to be a great uniter! I thought he was going to heal all of the wounds! So far, he’s only made them worse. Not off to a great start, but you won’t hear that in the mainstream media. It will only get worse as we have about four more years, at least. It’s unfortunate. Which brings up another point; I thought I was supposed to have hope while Obama was president! This administration is a rip-off!

I'm Not Sure Who This One Will Offend

I’m not sure who all the post will offend, but I know there are those who will disagree. I read in the news today that the Obama Administration will announce that 4,000 additional troops will be sent to Afghanistan. I’m not sure where to start off with my feelings about this, so I’ll just jump right in and hope I don’t leave anything out.

There is blatant hypocrisy on the part of liberals here. I won’t even go into the fact that Obama positioned himself as the “anti-war” candidate, and routinely criticized Bush’s foreign policy. Obama, and other liberals, spoke out against the idea of a “troop surge” in Iraq. Now, Obama is planning his own troop surge and no one on the left seems upset. Does he get a free pass to wage war as he sees fit because there’s a “D” after his name on the election ballot? Does the Democrat Party’s perceived hatred of war only count when it’s a war started by a Republican? It certainly looks that way.

Now, I’m not sure if I’m for the war in Afghanistan or not. I hate to run my mouth off about things I have not studied and researched. My first thought is that we need to clean house there. Al Qaeda attacked us first, and I’m for blowing them to hell. Here’s what I’m not for, however: nation building. And there’s a part of me that fears Afghanistan will just turn into more of the same. For those of you who are naive and thinking, “No it won’t, we’ll just get Al Qaeda and get out,” please remember what has happened in Iraq. At first, we were there to stop Saddam from using WMDs, and once he was out of power we were supposed to be out of Iraq. Saddam’s been out of power and our soldiers still aren’t home. The truth is we’ll have troops on the ground in that dreadful country for years to come. Also, I have read that the U.S. is sending $1.5 billion dollars per year for the next five years to Afghanistan for “economic development.” Don’t tell me we’re not involved in nation building over there. This is $1.5 billion (multiplied by five) that is being stolen from tax payers and given to a foreign country that I bet none of really care anything about! Or, the money is simply being printed, giving rise to inflation and weakening the dollar. Either way, it’s immoral and unfair to the American tax payer. And in these tough economic times, is it really smart to give $7.5 billion dollars to someone else?

The four thousand troop surge is also alarming to me. Not only can we not afford financially to keep up our current foreign policy, but we can’t afford it based on manpower. If things keep going the way they are now, the draft will almost have to be reinstated. I have a lot of respect for our military and the brave men and women who serve.  Veterans, no matter what war the served in, or if they served in a war, deserve the utmost appreciation and respect, from all of us no matter our fillings on various military engagements. America is not the bad guys, and it irritates me to no end when I hear liberals make us out to be. The world owes America a great debt of gratitude for the sacrifice that countless brave ones have made. That being said, this nation has a volunteer military and it needs to remain that way. I, like Ronald Reagan, disagree with the draft because it starts with the assumption that children belong to the state and can be called up at will by the “rulers.” I say children because the draft would mainly be targeted at eighteen, nineteen, and twenty year olds who are really just kids. But the truth is no one belongs to the state. Children are gifts from God, entrusted to their parents until the time they come of age to stand or fall on their own decisions. They are not to be brainwashed and used based upon the whims of tyrants or governments. Obama scares me more and more with this. Not only do I fear a military draft, but also his “national service” plans. If those of age choose to join the military they have my respect and we should thank them. If those of age choose to volunteer in a service organization or give several months or years to religious activity that is admirable.  However, no one should be forced to serve in any way that don’t see fit or worthy.

Now, this is the part where I’ll no doubt offend some. We have to be careful of what we do in the Middle East. Please, neo-cons, don’t start with the “you’re part of the blame America first crowd.” I’m not. I would love to see peace and democracy in that region of the world as much as the next guy, but I know it will never happen. Muslims don’t understand freedom. They can’t. Freedom and democracy are inseparable from Judeo-Christian values. Case in point: is it a coincidence that those in our own government who seek to grow the already over blown federal system are for the most part secular progressives? No.  Is it a coincidence that those who are for smaller government are predominantly Christian? No. Is it a coincidence that the greatest experiment in freedom the world has ever seen came about by godly Christian men? No. America is a result of Judeo-Christian values. I know the secular revisionists have attempted to rewrite history, but the truth remains. Most of our Founding Fathers were Christians, and their world view directly shaped the founding of this nation. I understand.   I cannot separate my Christian world view from my “politics.” In other words, my libertarian philosophy is directly intertwined with my Christian theology.  My ideas of liberty come from my understanding of Scripture, so much that you could say my views on more freedom and more personal responsibility are part of my “religion.” Now, I’m not saying there aren’t Christian Democrats, I’m just saying that the Left is overwhelmingly led by those of a secular mindset. And, back to my original point, the freedom we so deeply cherish will never take root in the Muslim world until they have a change of heart that can only come about by Jesus Christ. Those in our government who think otherwise show they do not have a proper understanding of the region or the religion that plays such a predominant role. (Again, to look out how religious world view plays out in government, look at the Muslim world! Their religion has led to restrictive, violent regimes!)

I will stop now, since I’ve probably offended some Republicans and some Democrats. Oh well, sometimes the truth hurts. I just wish that those who are unfortunately in power in this country would consider all of these things before moving forward in the Middle East.

I Love the Obama Administration...So Far!

I couldn't ask for a better start from our newly sworn in President. Why? Because I, like Rush, want Obama to fail. I want the American people to see once and for all what a massive failure socialism really is! And before I go on, let me say this: Obama will fail. He may be able to prop himself and his positions up for a while, but eventually it will all collapse. This isn't a matter of opinion. It's a fact that socialism/communism fails every time it's tried! The USSR is no more (although they are trying to mount a comeback under ex-KGB man Putin). China is still officially communist, but has moved more towards capitalism in recent years in order to save their economy. Cuba is a mess (if it's so great, why do so many risk their lives to get the heck out of there?). And the list could go on. But the point is, socialism doesn't work. I know the reason it doesn't work, and I'm guessing most of you do too. The root of the problem is that socialism doesn't take into account the fact that man is basically bad. Our default mode is sin. We are naturally inclined to look out for number one first, and not worry about those around us. Anyone who has a basic understanding of Scripture is aware of this. What does this truth mean for socialism? Put simply, it can't work. Because those in power will seek their own interest, and not the collective good of the citizens. Would our leaders really distribute money equally (which isn't fair anyway, but that's another issue)? Or would they use their power to increase their own wealth and position? We've seen this played out time and time again. This brings me back to wanting Obama to fail. He's a socialist. I know he says he's not. I know he tries to wrap his Marxist philosophy in a blanket of American terminology, but "you can only put so much lipstick on a pig."

That's why I want him to fail and that's why I love the Obama presidency so far. He is failing. In fact, in just over fifty days he has managed to turn his administration into a fiery train wreck! It's Jimmy Carter all over again. The more he talks about additional stimulus packages, the more he proposes tax hikes, the more he increases government control of the so-called "private sector," the more he spends money the government doesn't have, and the more the economy tanks because of his horrific policies, the more the American people start talking about a "revolution." So, I love Obama's presidency thus far, because it's finally waking up many to just how socialistic this country has become. His administration has gotten people so mad they are finally getting off the side lines and into the game.

So, Mr. President, keep it up. Just keep doing what you're doing. You are stirring the conservative movement far more than Reagan, Rush, or anyone else for that matter ever could.
