I am praying for whose lives were forever changed yesterday at Fort Hood. I feel truly heartbroken over what has happened. Even though I know none of those people, I can’t help but to think of how many families’ upcoming Thanksgivings and Christmases will be so drastically different from the ones they had planned.
And while my heart grieves it is also angry. You see, I’m praying for the terrorist who carried this cowardly act out. In fact, I’m praying the hardest for this Nadil Malik Hasan. However, not in the way you might think. I’m praying the exact same prayer King David prayed in Psalm 109. I know that’s not in line with the pansy, feel good “Christianity” some have tried to reduce the faith to, but at least I’m honest.
So my message to fellow Christians is grieve for the lost, the survivors, and the family members forever affected. And it’s okay to get angry and mad at the evil one who perpetrated this event! You’re not any less spiritual for feeling indignation. The difference, however, is when we get angry we don’t open fire on innocent people or strap explosives to ourselves.
Politically correct? No. True? You bet.
